GENFLOPS POLICY
Privacy Policy
What GenFlops collects, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.Last updated: October 20, 20261. Who is responsible
GenFlops is operated from Alberta, Canada. Privacy questions, access requests and complaints can be sent through the Privacy option on the contact page.
2. Information we collect
- Your verified email sign-in identifier and available display name.
- Profile details and settings you choose to provide.
- Gens, comments, prompts, generation details, reports and other community activity.
- Saved items, follows, votes, achievements and notification preferences.
- For signed-in accounts, a daily visit record and whether a post was started help us understand participation and return visits. These records are kept for up to 90 days and are available only to the verified owner; we do not use a third-party analytics tracker.
- Technical security information such as request timing, approximate network identifiers, browser information and pseudonymous abuse-prevention signals.
- Private Learning messages, their participants, timestamps and read status, plus messages sent through support, privacy, copyright and appeal forms.
3. Why we use it
- Create and secure your account.
- Publish and organize community content at your direction.
- Provide comments, votes, saves, follows, notifications, achievements and moderation.
- Prevent spam, fraud, ban evasion, unsafe uploads and other misuse.
- Respond to support, privacy, copyright and lawful requests.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and improve the service.
4. Public and private information
Published profile information, Gens and community interactions may be visible publicly. Hidden prompts and unapproved uploads are not displayed publicly. Learning conversations are visible in the site only to their teacher and student participants. They are stored on our servers, are included in account data exports, and are not end-to-end encrypted. Reports, staff notes, account-risk records and support requests are restricted to authorized review.
5. Service providers and location
GenFlops runs on Cloudflare Workers, with Cloudflare D1 database and private R2 object storage. Sign-in codes are sent through the configured email delivery service. Uploaded files stay private during automatic file checks by GenFlops' private Cloudflare scanner. Images and videos that pass content screening, and audio that passes antivirus, can publish without routine human review; flagged or uncertain results stay private for review. Text publishes directly. Files are not sent to a third-party antivirus API. Information may be processed outside Alberta or Canada and may be subject to the laws of the place where a service provider operates.
6. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only to operate the service through providers, with your direction, to investigate safety or security issues, during a legitimate business transfer, or when required by valid legal process. Legal requests are reviewed for scope and authority before disclosure.
7. Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, safety and dispute handling, legal obligations and backup recovery. Expired incomplete uploads are scheduled for deletion. Files blocked by antivirus scanning are deleted from object storage immediately; a limited scan result and security audit record may be retained. Other rejected or quarantined files are kept only for a limited review period unless a legal or safety hold applies, and rate-limit records expire automatically.
8. Your choices and rights
- Edit your public profile and prompt-sharing defaults in Settings.
- Download an account-data export.
- Request correction or account deletion.
- Appeal eligible moderation decisions.
- Ask how your information is used or challenge our privacy practices through the contact form.
9. Security
GenFlops uses access controls, private upload quarantine, verified file signatures, antivirus scanning, posting and request limits, moderation records, security headers and staff-only tools. A file cannot be approved, previewed or published unless its antivirus result is clean. No online service can promise absolute security. If we identify a breach that requires notice, we will follow applicable notification requirements.
10. Device storage
Interest choices are saved privately to your account to prioritize familiar topics in For You and unfamiliar topics in Explore. You can change or clear them in Settings; they do not subscribe you to marketing emails. GenFlops stores your theme preference and unfinished upload draft on your device. Session storage also remembers your browsing filters and position. Your advertising preference is also stored in this browser. When advertising is enabled, the public home feed can load Google AdSense. We request non-personalized ads with restricted data processing. Google may process IP addresses, browser and device information, the page address, cookies and similar identifiers for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Non-personalized ads can still use cookies. Google provides regional consent choices where applicable. Open Privacy and cookie settings in the site footer to manage Google consent choices. A Global Privacy Control signal also keeps Google ads off. Advertising choices do not affect your ability to use GenFlops. Google advertising services may process information outside Canada. See policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites for how Google uses information from partner sites.
11. Optional Adsterra advertising
Advertising helps fund GenFlops. The public homepage can display an Adsterra banner and native ad. Before loading Adsterra standard tags, we ask for consent to advertising cookies and personal-data processing. If you allow it, Adsterra and its advertising partners may process your IP address, browser and device information, page address, browsing activity, cookies and similar identifiers for ad delivery, personalization, measurement and fraud prevention. They may process information outside Canada. Their practices are described at adsterra.com/privacy-policy-managed/. This is separate from Google's consent choices.
You can refuse without losing access to GenFlops. Withdraw your consent in Privacy and cookie settings in the footer. This privacy choice is not an ad-free membership. Your choice is stored on this browser; Global Privacy Control also prevents Adsterra loads. Withdrawal stops further advertising loads here but does not erase data already received by advertising providers. Clear existing advertising cookies in your browser settings or contact the provider to exercise your data rights. We configure the trial for non-adult, in-page advertisements. Report an unsuitable ad through the contact page.
